Four months ago, Loi's mother died of cancer. During her illness, Loi's father had to borrow money to care for his wife. Left with no money, no food, 6 children, and debt, he continued to borrow money and beg for his family. As the situation worsened, he sent two of his children to Promise House.

Loi is attending school in Da Nang, where his progress is good. His favorite subject is Math, and someday he hopes to be a doctor.

Loi is a fireball--bold and full of energy. Though he is a very active boy, he is obedient and respectful of authority. He loves playing, drawing, and watching movies.

Loi says that he likes his new home at Promise House and is very happy.
