The day after Quoc was born, his mother deserted her child. Quoc's father tried for two days to care for the boy on his own, then abandoned him by a coconut tree 300 meters from his house. Quoc's maternal grandparents found the child and raised him to the best of their ability, but in the end they needed help. In early 2010, Quoc joined Promise House, where he receives good care and an abundance of love. Though the boy was weak from malnourishment when he first came, he is now a bundle of energy, bounding and playing with his friends.
