Hai's father passed away. Hai's mother felt she couldn't care for two children on her own, and Hai and his sister moved in with their grandmother. After a time, the grandmother became ill and she, too, was unable to raise the children. When Promise House opened in February, Hai was welcomed with open arms.

Hai is a sweet, good boy who is friendly, a touch shy and quick to smile. He loves to play ball and he enjoys being with his new brothers and sisters at Promise House.
