Typhoon Relief
- Projects -
In October of 2009, Typhoon Ketsana struck central Vietnam.
In Vietnam alone, the storm claimed 163 lives, destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes, and ruined over 70 thousand hectares of crops.
Orphan Voice is dedicated to meeting the needs of orphaned and at-risk children. But when the storm struck, Orphan Voice came to the aid of hundreds of people without food or adequate shelter.
Orphan Voice staff and volunteers used a boat to deliver 3,000 meals to those stranded by floodwaters...
...and hiked several miles in the mountains to come to the aid of people who had lost everything to the high winds and heavy rains.
Orphan Voice is continuing to meet the needs of those affected by Typhoon Ketsana. Current projects include providing the tin needed to roof 25 houses, repairing an orphanage damaged by high winds, and replacing the roof on a vocational school that helps orphaned and at-risk children. We need your help.
