Friendship Teams

Each year, Orphan Voice sends Friendship Teams to project countries.Child in Bed

Friendship Teams visit projects and learn about what work is being done for the orphans and in the orphanages. They visit the children, spend quality time with them, teach them skills, plan a party or a "field trip," organize sports activities, etc.

They also help with physical needs such as construction, repairs, gardening, painting, etc. Some groups come with members who are doctors, musicians, artists, dentists, skilled laborers, teachers or other specialists who have offered specific attentions to the children. There are many things that can be done and many needs to be met.

We also love for teams to have ideas for what they would like to do when they are here, so they use their passions and gifts to their full capacity. We want your visit to be beneficial for the children here, but also a fulfilling and growing experience for you.

Vision Team-Vietnam and Cambodia

August 26-September 7, 2009

In late August/early September, a team from the US worked in in an orphanage in Vietnam and a school in Cambodia.

Kathy Alexander, coordinator of Forever Families Adoption Ministry/Orphan Care at Ohio's Fairfield Christian Church, shared some thoughts about her experience in Southeast Asia. Kathy said, "There's nothing like a field trip to really provide a lesson to learn! Spending time in Vietnam with the Orphan Voice staff and participating in several opportunities there was definately a field trip that confirmed what I've known for some time, but now I not only know it...I really know it! I am forever changed because of this trip! I appreciate connecting with an organization that has a heart for the orphan and the poor. I appreciate that they are a trusted group of people who seek the heart of God in all that they do. I appreciate that I have had the opportunity to see firsthand what God is doing in the lives of people in Vietnam through Orphan Voice. People are getting food. People are getting clothes. People are getting medical care. People are getting an education. More importantly, people are getting a glimpse of the love and mercy that comes from a loving Father. A sure sign of a successful field trip is when the person that went on the trip not only wants to go back but wants to take other folks along so they can experience a life-changing lesson. Vietnam, I'll be back!"
